Frisco 1522 Steam Farewell Video - Part 1

Frisco 1522 is a 4-8-2 'Mountain Type' Steam Locomotive. It was built by the Baldwin Loco-motive Works of Philadelphia in 1926, for service on the St. Louis -San Francisco (FRISCO) Railway.

The locomotive was donated to the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis for display upon its retirement by the Frisco in the 1950s. A 3-year restoration of the 1522 was completed in 1988, and the 1522 began her second career as an excursion engine.

Near the end of 2002, the engine was unfortunately placed back into retirement, and is once again on display at the Museum of Transportation in
St. Louis.

I was lucky enough to see her in action on several occasions, and ride in a train she pulled once. The last time I saw her under steam was on September 28, 2002 - the first day of her final 2-day farewell excursion.
